The Lionthorn Community Woodland was planted in 2002 by local people on an area of flat land susceptible to flooding. The woodland is slowly maturing and now provides a habitat for woodland birds and a wide variety of small animals including the water vole.
A network of paths provides a pleasant stroll round the woodland. Our way marked trail takes you into Kilbean Wood which as well as being a important landscape feature also provides timber for the construction industry and for our biomass supply business year round.
